Call to participate
The Call to Participate is one of three programs of the VSA arts and CVS Caremark All Kids Can partnership--a yearlong campaign to encourage learning and community engagement through creating art. Through this campaign, young people will create original artwork (Call to Create), artist-in-residence programs in schools will expand access and document learning through the arts for students with disabilities (Call to Innovate), and CVS Caremark employees will lead volunteer activities that engage their communities and/or schools in building inclusive environments (Call to Participate).
As part of the Call to Participate in Orange County CVS employees will be invited to:
- Participate as volunteers in Orange Coutny Very Special Arts Festival's hands-on workshops, by assisting the workshop presenters.
- Participate in Art Selection night, March 27, to choose 50-60 pieces for the Traveling Show and one work for a T-shirt, that best represents this year’s festival theme: “We Are All in This Together.”
In Los Angeles, the Call to Participate will invite CVS employees to help with the Festival by:
- leading theme-specific workshops;
- introducing performers;
- running the Photo Booth;
- greeting VSA students as they climb off their busses
